FF5-14 The Third Hand: Modified irrigation tip for bimanual

In FLACS, cortical fibres get cut 200µ below CCC. Post FLACS,if there is miosis beyond the CCC,then bimanual I/A becomes difficult as there are no free cortical fibrils seen for aspiration as the bimanual I/A cannot hold on to the iris.So we modified the irrigating handle with a Y. This atraumatically retracts the iris during I/A to visualise the cortical end for safe aspiration all 360° around. FF5-15 Feasibility of a New “Safety Net” Device for Posterior Capsule Rupture During Phacoemulsification Sheetal BRAR India A new device called the “safety net” device developed to prevent nucleus or fragment drop in the unfortunate event of PCR during phaco is presented. It is a circular shaped tool , made of hydrophilic acrylic material, and consisted of net like design. In the event of PCR, the device needs to be secured using 3-4 iris hooks under the fragments and over the iris/pupil, followed by which careful phaco emulsification of the fragments may be done. The device has several advantages - simple, easy to use, allows proper vitrectomy and cortical aspiration, assessment of collateral damage and planning of secondary IOL, and is easy to insert and explant. FF5-16 Zepto Cataract Surgery and Premium IOL Implantation in Challenging Cataract Cases Suresh PANDEY India Zepto precision nano-pulse capsulotomy device offers a unique approach to capsulorhexis in difficult cataract cases. This video highlights the outcomes of Zepto-assisted cataract surgery in challenging scenarios: intumescent cataract, Morgagnian cataract, and small pupil cataract. The device, introduced via a 2.8 mm clear corneal incision, delivers consistent, centered capsulotomies of 5.2 mm. The precision pulse technology enables 360° simultaneous mechanical cleavage of the anterior capsule without the need for cauterization. Our experience suggests that the Zepto system provides safe, reproducible capsulotomies regardless of pupil size or lens density, optimizing outcomes for premium intraocular lens implantation.
